Create a Macrame Hanging Garden


Create your own indoor hanging garden with a plant of your choosing and a plant hanger that you design and weave yourself!

In this workshop, participants will design and weave a plant holder for their very own indoor garden. The workshop will cover the selection of an appropriate houseplant for your space, instruction on planting and caring for your new roommate and the hand-weaving of a unique macrame plant holder.
Participants will leave the studio with a handmade plant holder, a ceramic pot and the houseplant of their choosing.

Course Notes

Skill Level : Beginner — This course is best suited for beginners with little or no prior experience in macrame.

Tools and techniques : We will be handweaving our macrame plant holders. The typical materials consist of cotton or jute ropes, wood or metal rings and assorted beads. Participants will pot a plant to take home and will be provided with soil and instructions for care.

Length: 3 hours

Typical class size: 6 – 8 people

No prior experience is necessary.

When: Some Saturday evenings, 6:30 to 9:30 pm and some Sunday mornings 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
