Workshop Overview

Your jewelry should resonate with your individuality, who you are, and what inspires you. For that to happen, each piece needs to be as unique as you are. By learning how to create and style your own pieces, you free yourself to an entirely new world of expression through your accessories.

What you will learn

Metalsmith Jewelry Design is a class designed to walk you through the basics of creating your personally designed silver ring. You will use basic metalsmithing techniques such as sawing, filing, and soldering to create your own ring with personalized designs created from silver sheet and rod. From the original draft to your final design, Megan will walk you through every step of the way and help you lay the foundation of your own metalworking and design skills.

I took this course for the first time, never having worked with silver or any other metals before. Megan is a fantastic teacher, artist and designer. With great ease and knowledge, she explains how to create a ring from the idea in your minds eye to the final piece. You start with a raw piece of silver to choose from and through her methods, you begin to see the design of your ring take shape. I was incredibly satisfied with this process and I look forward to taking other metal smithing courses with her through Craftsman Ave. I highly recommend taking one of her workshops.
