Make a Small Table (Introduction to Woodworking and Furniture Making)

February 24 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Craft your own contemporary and minimalist side table, constructed using oak and classic half-lap joints

Woodworking is an age-old craft and one of the most versatile skills. With some woodworking know-how and the right tools, you can create anything.

Do you have a picture in your head of the perfect piece of furniture for your home, the one piece that will pull everything together and fit into that awkward little space in the corner? The piece that, no matter how many stores and websites you search, you can never find in real life? That’s because it’s up to you to build it yourself! This workshop will get you started with the skills needed to design and build the furniture of your dreams.

You’ll begin this workshop with a few pieces of oak. You’ll then cut and shape that oak into the individual parts of your table, using various power tools and hand tools. You’ll get hands-on experience using a miter saw, a router table, a table saw and a belt sander.

You’ll then apply some good old “elbow grease” to ensure everything fits together precisely before assembling your masterpiece.
