Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear to the workshop?

You should wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

What skills does woodworking include?

The art of woodworking includes all the skills needed to cut, shape, and join wood to make something useful and/or beautiful. There are hundreds of tools available to do these tasks, including power tools that do most of the work for you as well as hand tools. Our woodworking workshops will familiarize you with many of these tools and give you hands-on experience using them.

Do I need any previous woodworking experience?

Unless specified, all our workshops are designed with the beginner in mind. We consider it our job to get you started in the world of woodworking by helping you create something in 4 hours or less. That said, our woodworking workshops usually involve at least some immediate-level concepts and techniques that will make them educational and enjoyable for everyone, even those that have done woodworking in the past but are looking for a refresher.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You don’t need to bring a thing! We’ll provide all the protective gear, tools, and materials needed to complete your project.

Are there any age restrictions?

Since many of our workshops involve power tools, we normally ask that all guests are 18 years old or older. However, minors are welcomed to join our workshops if an adult participates and supervises the minor throughout the workshop. This can be done several ways – by both the minor and the adult signing up as “guests” for the workshop or by signing up for our Buddy Up! or Date Night packages. These packages are designed for two people to make one thing together and both people will get bragging rights to the finished product and the great memories from the experience.
