Class size: Our workshops are intentionally kept intimate — small enough that every guest receives the personal attention they deserve, with enough skilled guides on hand to ensure no question goes unanswered and no detail is missed. Most workshops usually include no more than 12 to 15 guests.

What You’ll Be Doing: Selecting vegetable-tanned leather, cutting it to size, burnishing edges, and attaching solid hardware (D-ring, buckle) with rivets.

What To Expect

In this two-hour immersive session, you don’t just craft a collar; you forge a lasting heirloom designed for the loyal companion who has paced the floors with you in your study. Under the guidance of a master artisan, you will select your own piece of stout, vegetable-tanned leather, learning to cut, bevel, and burnish it until the edges are as smooth as a polished river stone.

The class focuses on the old-school techniques of durability—utilizing honest tools ensuring the collar survives both the morning sprint through the tall grass and the lazy afternoon nap by the fireplace.

We furnish the brass hardware—heavy-duty and reminiscent of a 1920s sailing vessel—which you will set by hand, ensuring that your best friend feels as ruggedly sophisticated as you do. While the leather develops its own unique patina over time, the real reward is the quiet concentration of the craft, punctuated only by the satisfying thud of the mallet and the smell of beeswax.

You will leave with a bespoke accessory, tailored to your pup’s neck, that speaks of a different time when things were made to last. It is, perhaps, the most important hour you will spend this year.
