What To Expect
Woodworking is a hobby that has historically required a connection to someone who really knows their way around a workshop.
Are you unable to casually dabble in woodworking because you need tools and space, but you don’t want to commit to a woodworking apprenticeship?
We are here to be your woodworking plug. This workshop will get you started with the skills needed to design and build the furniture of your dreams.
You’ll begin this workshop with a few pieces of oak. You’ll then cut and shape the oak into the individual parts of your table, using a mitre saw, a router table, a table saw, and a belt sander.
Never used any of those? Don’t worry! Each workshop has a “guide” who is there to guide you (obvi)!
After tool time, you will make sure everything fits together precisely before assembling your masterpiece.

What materials and tools will we use in the workshop?
All materials, including quality wood, tools, and safety equipment, are provided. You’ll learn to use both hand tools and basic power tools in a controlled, safe environment.
What kind of wood will we be using?
You will be using red oak to make your table. Red oak is a hardwood that is easily sourceable from most hardware stores.
Will we be staining or putting a finish on our tables?
While we won’t be putting any finish on the tables, the finishing process will be explained and discussed at the end of class.
How long does the workshop take, and will I finish my table in one session?
The workshop lasts approximately 4 hours. You’ll complete a fully functional side table during the class and take it home the same day.
