What To Expect

Somewhere along the way, we handed our children a screen and called it the world.

The screens will still be there on Monday. For one week, we’re asking something different of your young person.
Craftsman Ave Youth Camp is a week-long return to something older and more honest — the satisfaction of making something real with your own two hands. Each day, young makers step into a new discipline led by master artisans who still believe that the best lessons come with a little sawdust, a little heat, and the particular pride of finishing something you started.
No passive watching. No scrolling. Just tools, materials, and the quiet confidence that builds when a young person discovers they are more capable than they knew.

Under the guidance of craftspeople who learned the old way — by doing — they’ll cut, shape, forge, and build their way through a week that will outlast any summer they’ve had before. Each day introduces a new material, a new toolset, a new creative challenge. Focus sharpens. Problems get solved. Something gets made.
By the end of the week, they’ll have a collection of handcrafted objects they’ll keep for years. But what they’ll carry longest is something harder to name — a kind of quiet certainty that they can figure things out. That they can make, solve, and create in the real world.

That’s not a camp. That’s a turning point.
